Will Deep Tissue Massage Hurt?
At certain points of the massage treatment, some clients find there is usually some discomfort and pain. It is important to communicate with the therapist when you experience soreness or pain that is outside your comfort range.
There is usually some stiffness, muscle tenderness or pain after a deep tissue massage, but it should subside within a day or two. You should increase your water intake after a deep tissue massage or apply ice to the areas that were treated.
How should I feel after a massage?
Most people feel very relaxed. Some experience freedom from long-term aches and pains developed from tension or repetitive activity. After an initial period of feeling slowed down, people often experience increased energy, heightened awareness, and greater productivity which can last for days. Since toxins are released from your soft tissues during a massage, it is recommended you drink plenty of water following your massage.
First Time Appointments
For first time patients please arrive 10-15 min prior to your appointment time to fill out a health history form and any other required administration of your account. Or an email with a link to fill out an online health history questionnaire will be sent to you. This health history can be filled out online prior to your appointment.

When you book an appointment with me, that time is set aside for you - and ONLY you. I respectfully request that you be there for your scheduled appointment and show up on time. If you arrive late, your massage session will only extend to the end of the specified booking time to allow for other appointments to start on time. I request that, with the obvious exception of emergency/illness (circumstances that are out of your control), all cancellations be given 24 hours notice in order to allow another client a chance to book that space. If you do not show up for your scheduled appointment, and you have not notified me at least 24 hours in advance, you will be required to pay the full cost of the treatment. Clients that no-show more than once are required to pay in full at the time of booking. My time is valuable and please understand that if you do not show up for your appointment I do not get paid. Thank you in advance for understanding and cooperation.
Methods of Payment
Cash, Visa, MC, Amex, debit, and direct billing (please confirm prior to your appointment if your insurance company allows direct billing)
I will provide you with appropriate documentation for making an insurance claim after a massage treatment has been provided and paid for. Insurance receipts are issued according to the guidelines of the Massage Therapists Association of Alberta and are given only in the name of the person receiving the treatment for the date of the actual treatment.
I direct bill to numerous insurance companies! Please bring your benefit card with you to each massage session. It is up to the patient to contact their insurance company to understand their current extended health plan. Some insurance companies require a physicians prescription to claim massage therapy treatment. If the online system is down or not responding you are responsible to pay for your treatment session at that time.
